Behind the Craft: A Quest for Quality
Our Story
Growing up in Claremore, Oklahoma, Andy Esau’s passion for leather was sparked in a middle school art class, but he would not transform his love into a craft until later in life. Ever intrigued by nature and the ability to transform natural materials into something new, Andy developed an interest in, and career, caring for honeybees. As an apiarist, Andy dedicated himself to protecting and sustaining honeybee colonies, a profession that requires patience and attentiveness, which would translate exceptionally well to the leather craft industry.
The Quest for Quality
In 2015, Andy was searching for a quality leather portfolio, but was unhappy with the options he found, so he sourced a premium leather material, and began crafting his own. The process immediately intrigued him. He loved perfecting the details and the challenge of creating something from conception to completion.
While Andy is no longer a beekeeper, the skill and delicate care of sheltering, protecting and processing hives can be seen in his superior leather products. Much like the honeybees, Andy is dedicated, meticulous and intentional with his craft. His work is characterized by the attention to detail and hours spent crafting his products to ensure each item meets his standards of beauty, function and quality.
Inspired by his wife and two daughters, Andy strives to make them proud through his craftsmanship. He relishes the internal challenge of achieving perfection in his work and takes pride in every piece he creates. His goal is for customers to be proud of owning his creations, appreciating the time and effort invested in each item.
